Flash Fiction 55: 11/4/11 North by East

Many green and brown leaves
still clung on the trees,
The weather churned
up the coast
blanketing most
in heavy white, wet and ice;
That wasn't nice to
the trees or the wires
most snapped and expired.
Days upon days
people were glazed by
the sun and a haze
of no heat, water or fire!

Izzy....
I been thinking about my Eastern Seaboard friends. I'm glad you are safe and warm finally!
Makes for an interesting 55...
Thanks for playing, You Rock Girl, and have a Kick Ass and Snow Free Week-End

Strange our weather these days.

Wonderful poetic weather commentary. Seriously, you should sent this to the Weather Channel or Al on the Today Show, etc. :)

Sounds like a disaster, but when I've lived through similar I mostly found it an annoyance. Nice thing about the consistently early winters we've been getting (There's snow in my yard right now) is that it puts out the forest fires.

That storm just skimmed past me, but I was thinking of everyone that got slammed. It's awful early for winter to be visiting, leaves have barely turned here this year will be awhile before they drop.

I too have been thinking how awful it must be to have no power and be cold! Nicely said.

We were without power for 13 days after Hurricane Hugo but it was unseasonably warm back then for late September.
