Poetry Jam: Forgetting

Sun into haze-
deepens into finger mist,
seeping from the pines
down onto water.
Snake sidling
widening with breath,
The Kayak
parts it at first
then it deepens into piles and curls up behind.
Rolling forward over the top
paddles, then hair disappear;
soon I can barely
see my hands.
Not only have I forgotten
where I am
I forget
how far it is.

that can be a scary thing for sure...been lost in the forest before...ending up way out of the way...know this goes deeper than that but...

wow izzy, startling, unexpected images in a very powerful piece - yet still beautifully understated. Liked it very much.

I never remember how far it is - even if I know where I am. I've decided to just go with the flow - I'll get there eventually.

I thought I'd commented on this. Something's misfiring! But not your poetic instinct, this is great stuff! Well done.

Oh, lovely, Izzy. All those lines leading up to the end, they made me sigh. Beautiful.
