Mag79,

"Hey let's go -Get up and go!
Away from here and anything work,
You're playing Hooky!"
   They always came grinning.
A car full of cousins, Ellie and Lizz
and often Camellia.
She kept a picture like this on the mantel at home.
" Be ready for us anytime, those who love to play-"
was scrawled across the back.
Usually the four of us ended up on the beach
playing Volleyball, surfing. Or even cruising the boardwalk
down somewhere near Jackson; where there was a Carnival
with rides and games most of the summer.
It had been a few years since the girls had showed up, but
that horn might still give a double blast in the driveway!

Aaw, so sweet. Hooky days were few and far between for us, but, we made the best of every one of them. : )

It's nice to think that a car full of friends can turn up at any time and drag you away from drudgery. Nice Mag.

Well, what a fun group they are. You brought it to life. I can hear their laughter and I think the inside of the car smells like suntan lotion, bubblegum, and hot leather!
