FF55, 12/30/11 Chess and Checkers

The Whole Shebang
shh- shh shake
the square quilt out

in colors of wind and rain
a year of rush and wait,
a shh-shh shake

lives which tumbled were unexplained -

A time for faith on dotted lines
tense, alert, for a leap of change
and when it came
south flipped north

even blessings were rearranged !

Yes, 2011 had much shaking going on...and much rearranging. I hope 2012 is less shaky and kinder and gentler. Your 55 flowed beautifully.

Wishing you a beautiful New Year, izzy!

I adore this! I am reminded of the master quilter who, mid session, takes His masterpiece, shakes loose the wrinkles and admires his creation. I am constantly amazed at what we once thought of obstacles transforms into our greatest blessing.

It's easy to get shaken apart these days, but your 55 keeps it all together. Happy New Year, and many more less shaky ones to come, we'll hope.

Marvelous description of a patchwork kind of year, and a truly original poem. I am so impressed.
