FF55 12/27/12, Evergreen Park

Cold night
golden moon above,
clock chimes.

Round wooden bandstand
brown park bench,
lean back.

A turning felt Fedora
Inky paper pages,
eyes peer over.

Two arms swing back
tall shadow rises,
small feet flee.

Grab handful hair, twist
blue ornery pulses,
constriction wrists.

Long fingers grip a knife
red impressions on heart,
danger passing.

danger passing? ... sounds like it did quite a bit of damage. Perhaps that grip on the knife was a rescuer? Hmm... leaves me thinking.

There just HAD to be some blood in this--right? So the perpetrator perpetrated himself! Neat "finish"...

drive safe....we raced home last night to beat the storm here...my poem was from the trip down which was nasty...took 3 hours to go 70 miles...and would not want to cross that mountain again in what we are getting right now...
