FF55, I never cut flowers,

Yet maybe they will forgive
 me for my selfishness-

From subtle folds of bounty's reach
my peony's are blessing me

with a scent so rich
It glides as far

as roses can on butcher block,

from yellow kitchen to the dining
room they clasp their hands

and seal my mood
into velvet peace and gratitude

Izzy Dearest....
What a soothing post. I posted some pics of my Peonies just yesterday. But YOU? You bring them to life.

peonies are gorgeous. I feel guilty when I clip and cut - Love this poem's beginning. Just keep the water fresh and snip the bottom stems every other day and they should last a long time. Gives them enough time to forgive you :)

This reminds me of something my husband says about horses--"We made a deal--I don't ride them, and they don't ride me." The flowers certainly give us more on the stem, sometimes, than in the vase. Great 55, izzy.

I prefer flowers in their natural state myself and peonies are so awesomely rich.

Izzy, to me, peonies are the ballerinas of the garden. I love them and their sweet scent. Mine are just bursting forth (the daisies in my pic are in a field near my house - they seem to erupt much much earlier than the ones in my garden).

Loved your sweet 55!

I'm sure the flowers bless you for not cutting them. Frankly, given half a chance they like to go to seed.

Izzy, what can I say? Except...these words are YOU, YOU, YOU! A lover of all things created, your life and writing reflect that of one at peace with herself. (Mostly?--grin!)

I call this BLATANT UNSELFISHNESS!

My garden would grow wild. I'm very lazy with plants.

Don't cut flowers myself, prefer seeing them in the garden.
