Flash fiction 55, 4/1/11

Nasty, nasty !- reminding us
of "Pop Quiz-"
O.k.G-man, once again
see where this goes...

The only tests I ever did
halfway right, Fridays Spelling Bee
Or, My Times tables!
Seems to me they got sprung
on Monday once or twice-

Then got tangled up terribly;
Because  you see-it was in conflict
with memorizing of Poetry-
"The Pasture" or The Runaway"
by Robert Frost
I fought all Sunday to recite.

Learning Frost is always a worthwhile persuit.

(And made for a funny 55 too!)

Too much for one brain to handle. Best to leave the numbers behind and take in the art.

It certainly easier to memorize what you enjoy... I'm with you on Frost—lines worth remembering

So the Sunday was practically lost?

That reminds me how I had won a recitation competition reciting a poem in a language I couldn't read! I had memorized that by hearing. Actually, I still do!!

When you write your own poetry, you don't have to worry about memorization!!
I'm so glad that the Spririt of the 55 compelled you!

I'm a terrible speller, thank goodness for spell check.
